Watch Keeper Boosts Management Team

In keeping with its policy to continuously improve the quality of its service delivery, Vigilance has listened to suggestions and created a new role of company Watch Keeper to keep vigil, in particular out of hours and over weekends.

Captain Benindra Limbu, known to many already, will try his hand in the new role while familiarising himself with the company and its systems including the new Gallinet control room. His long Signals experience will be invaluable in ensuring that a calm and measured response meets everyday challenges, which can be handled with speed and certainty.

Vigilance managers and a number of staff have commented recently on the need for a single point of contact beyond the long-standing Duty Manager role, the baton for which has been passed around senior operations department managers on a scheduled basis.

The new role will be more focussed on out of hours and weekend shifts. It will be particularly useful during times when quick decisions are required or more complex liaison and communciation between different stakeholders is involved.

The Watch Keeper will meet this brief and act as constant point of contact, both in case of emergency, or simply if  a query simply can't wait until office hours. From time to time, its good to hear a respected voice on the other end of the phone, or to ask advice; the Watch Keeper is certainly there for this too.

The plan is that the Watch Keeper role evolves in time, and it is hoped that it grows into a valuable communicative role, keeping all stakeholders in the business connected and contented. Time will tell.
