Company Charity For Worker's Widow

Vigilance Properties' management team welcomed recently widowed Mrs Renuka Limbu to its Eccleston Street head office on 26th July, to present her and her family with funds raised via a company-wide charity appeal.

Following the untimely death of her husband Padam Bahadur Limbu in Nepal earlier this year, Mrs Limbu visited the Vigilance office to be handed a giant company cheque for £2,500 made possible only by heartfelt and generous donations from the entire firm.

Padam Limbu was born in the Sunsari district of Dharan in Eastern Nepal, and served for over 16 years in the 7th Gurkha Rifles. During his service Padam was based both in Hong Kong and the far east as well as the UK.

A career highlight mentioned in his CV, Padam was particularly proud to have been involved in mounting guard duties at both Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. Over a long and dedicated professional career his military conduct was considered exemplary, earning him the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.

Padam's commanding officer described him as an

"extremely willing man" and a "loyal, cheerful hardworker".

Padam's co-workers within the Vigilance family respected him greatly, and he will be missed particularly by his British co-worker Bob Kershaw in Streatham, with whom he became close. It is a token of the esteem that he was held in that such a significant sum was donated by his co-workers in support of his widow and two children. The company's management team was very happy to be able to match the sum raised.
