Vigilance is delighted to report that its 2012 annual sponsorship of the Grim Challenge at the Army Vehicle Testing Track passed off spectacularly, on a bright crisp and frigid 1st and 2nd December 2012 in Aldershot.
Operations Director Ed Mills' sponsorship initiative saw personnel manager Som Chochangi, logistics manager Mike Jamieson, office manager Dom Gurung and an eight man cheerleading team on course over the weekend, to break the ice (literally!) and lend enthusiastic vocal support to all those brave enough to take the challenge.
The volunteers from across the company were also treated to a sight for sore eyes: managing director Chris Hartley and Ed Mills who endured over an hour's worth of running, icy water immersion and mud-caked effort. Both posted a barely separably hand-holding finishing time of 1:03:56 though Mills took 118th, pipping Hartley to 119th place.
The company team, along with 6,500 other competitors were rewarded with a goody bag at journey's end, handed out by Som, Dom and Mike's 'Mighty Vigilance Morale Team' at the finish line.
The company would like to thank the organisers and co-sponsors Military Fitness 4 U for the opportunity to get stuck in to a truly community spirited event. It is fantastic to see our staff engaging so positively with the public. The event's charity beneficiary was Macmillan Cancer Support.
Finally, we would also like very much to thank Vigilance's dedicated staff who performed flawlessly and with customary cheer over two long but enjoyable days on course in Aldershot. Danyabad team!
