Chiuribot School Fund Soars On Commuter Generosity!

Collectors from Vigilance Properties and Chiuribot Pariwar attended Victoria Station and Victoria Place on Tuesday 13th October raising thousands of pounds towards the Siddartha School project in partnership with the Gurkha Welfare Trust

Cheery Customers

A fundraising team of former and serving Gurkha soldiers cheerily greeted Southern and South Eastern rail commuters, and Victoria shoppers from early doors until the end of rushhour in what proved a hugely succesful collection that finally raised over £3,000 for the Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Hugely Exciting

Members of Vigilance staff and UK-resident representatives of the Chiuribot community (the Chiuribot "Pariwar") gave freely of their time during a long but rewarding day's collecting. Former Gurkha soldiers and even a bagpipe playing member of the Brigade Bank turned up to assist raise funds in support of the Siddartha School.

Project Parameters

The team were delighted to have the opportunity to explain to interested passing commuters and shoppers the nature and parameters of the Siddartha School reconstruction project, and Vigilance's partnership with the GWT formed to deliver this hugely exciting charity project.

Great Generosity

Vigilance Properties' Siddartha School charity project owes a great debt of gratitude to the generosity of Network Rail and the management team of Victoria Place Shopping Centre, who gave the fundraising team full access to the station concourse and commercial areas of the complex in support of the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) collection.

Operations director Laxman Pun who grew up in Chiuribot commented: 

"Thank you all so much for your time, dedication and support on Tuesday. Our fundraising event in Victoria was a huge success and raised thousands for such a worthy cause."
