British Polo Day 2013

Summer has been an interesting time for Vigilance, which has seen growth across all aspects of its business as involvement in all manner of security operations nationwide increases.

Vigilance has tendered and won a number of exciting new contracts in recent months, which will bring with them unique challenges and complexities. With an ever diverse portfolio of contracts, company operations require varied approaches and the ability to adapt and improvise while always giving highest quality service.

My operations team has been working extremely hard over the summer, developing its new capabilities, and adopting new technologies and methods. So weleapt at the opportunity to be involved with British Polo Day, a highly prestigious and galmorous annual event in picturesque private surroundings in Henley-on-Thames.

The organisers applied military precision to their event planning, and the weather followed suit with sun shining all weekend, and guests revelling in the warm summer glow, amplified by hard fought battles on the field and liberally flowing refreshments off it.

Vigilance was tasked with providing event security from 28th to 30th June. Our highly trained staff relished the chance to ensure the safety and security of the hundreds of invited quests and VIPs that had come to enjoy the polo. Guests, sponsors, artworks and infrastructure all needed to be kept under watchful eyes... no distractions, not even in the event of a particularly compelling chukka!

The entire Vigilance team had a fantastic weekend, supporting the organisers and ensuring that a cracking event was enjoyed by all.

Thanks to the team and all involved at British Polo Day, and we very much look forward to working alongside you next year, Edward Lloyd Tennant Mills, ops dir.
