The services of an eight strong security team were gifted to help maintain festive cheer at the Elizabeth Street Party on Sunday 02 November 2012.
Staffs lead by Operations Manager Laxman Pun were on home turf in Belgravia, Elizabeth Street lying just around the corner from the company offices.
The team's key task from organiser Nadia Christie of Twenty Two Events was to ensure that the local community had fun, and that high profile visitors (including the Father Chritmas, his sledge and live reindeer) were supervised in a secure but relaxed manner.
While visitors enjoyed a streetside smorgasboard of Christmas fare, the Vigilance officers kept watch of key areas, restricting access to the church and road barriers scanning the crowd for possible troublemakers. Other staff mingled with the crowds soaking the atmosphere up and assisting members of the public and stallholders where needed.
A seasonal stage was the focal point for the entertainment, with Chritmas carols, bands and performers keeping the crowd enthralled. The Vigilance team ensured that artists and audience alike enjoyed themselves and that everything ran smoothly, without fuss.
The event was incredibly well-attended, full of street party lovers. Communication was key and the newly issued ruggedized VHF radios kept managers and organisers well informed and in control.
Great credit is due to all staff and our thanks to the organisers for the opportunity to take part in such a worthwhile and fun event.
