Vigilance directors and select guests enjoyed a historic night at The Mansion House on 1st November to mark 150 years of the London Fire Brigade at the Lord Mayor of London's gala dinner.
During 2016 the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has been marking the 150th anniversary of its foundation in 1866. In the intervening years the LFB has proved the salvation for many ordinary Londoners, both in peaceful and troubled times, most notably fighting the infernos caused by the Blitz of World War 2. The gala dinner was the culmination of this year's celebrations.
Outbound commissioner Ron Dobson CBE selected five charities to benefit from the event, each specialising in the rehabilitation of children and adults affected by fire-related trauma. The charities are RAFT; The Fire Fighters Charity; Children’s Burns Trust; Burns Camps; Children of Fire.
The Mansion House provided its perenially spectacular setting on the evening, hosted by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor, Andrew Parmley, supported by a list of business and government luminaries. Vigilance was delighted to stand alongside other corporate benefactors, including some of its own clients, with notable contributors Canary Wharf Group, Securitas, AICO, Hawkins, Dechert LLP, PwC, Neptune Oil & Gas, Schroders and iGas.
